Alexandar Johnson

Alexandar Johnson is a conductor, educator, and passionate advocate for choral excellence based in the St. Louis area. He currently serves as Director of Choirs at Hazelwood West High School. Under his leadership, ensembles consistently perform collegiate-level repertoire and have earned outstanding ratings at Music in the Parks competitions. His Chamber Choir is regularly invited to perform throughout the St. Louis community.
Beyond the classroom, Alexandar is an active performer. He is a Young Artist with the St. Louis Symphony's IN UNISON Chorus and is in his fifth season (2021–present). He is also a 14-year member of The Ambassadors of Harmony (2013–present), a former 10-year member of The Recruits (2013–2023), and sang for four years in the St. Louis Children's Choirs (2012–2016). His experiences as both educator and performer deeply inform his artistic voice and commitment to developing young musicians.
Several of his students have gone on to pursue music at the collegiate level, a testament to his dedication to cultivating not only strong singers, but thoughtful, disciplined artists. Through his work, Alexandar strives to build programs rooted in excellence, integrity, and transformative musical experiences.
