About This Piece
Actus is an intense new work that brings Marcus Aurelius' timeless wisdom to life. With a lush, cinematic accompaniment and compelling rhythmic energy, Actus strikes a perfect balance between accessibility and sophistication. Anchored by a strong form and recurring rhythmic motives, this piece is a joy for choirs to sing and audiences to experience. The Latin text reminds us that "the obstacle is the way," encapsulating Aurelius' stoic principles. Actus is a perfect choice for concert or festival settings.
